Dates and Deadlines

Frostburg State looks for students prepared to join in the life of an intellectual community. Our admission counselors review each application carefully, taking into consideration your academic background, life experiences and interests. You should plan to submit your application and materials based on your chosen decision timeline.

Unsure of what each decision option means? Here’s a quick primer:

  • Early Action: Early Action allows you to receive your admission decision in 2-4 weeks. If you are admitted to Frostburg State under this option, it is not required that you attend
  • Regular Decision: This follows all of the deadlines and requirements you might expect—no additional application materials or earlier deadline considerations necessary.
  • Spring Semester: Students can apply to the spring semester as a first-time first-year student or as a transfer student.
  • Re-entry: Students who were previously admitted and attended Frostburg State but did not earn a degree and have been absent for one semester or more, can submit an application for readmission. If a students has attended another university, official transcripts are required.
  • Non-Degree: Students who would like to take undergraduate courses but don’t plan on getting a degree from Frostburg State can apply as a non-degree special student.

Application Deadlines

We accept applications on a rolling basis, starting on August 1 and continuing until there is no further space for students. Applications from first-year students who would like to begin in the spring semester is granted on a space-available basis.
