Drawing on an interdisciplinary course of study, you'll learn how to work through challenges and continually improve your processes and relationships. From politics to philosophy, you'll gain an understanding of leadership to influence the course of history.

Leadership Studies Program Highlights

  • Explore programs designed to build citizen leaders through democratic engagement, service learning and volunteer opportunities with the Office of Civic Engagement, the ECHOSTARS (or AmeriCorps) program, Alternative Spring Break initiatives and leadership experiences with local service agencies.

  • Engage with nationally recognized leadership educators, scholars and practitioners with the Leaders-in-Residence program. This program brings notable leaders from across the country to the FSU campus providing opportunities to work with and learn from them.

What You'll Learn

Established in 2001 by a group of faculty, staff, and administrators committed to the leadership development of students, the Leadership Studies minor emphasizes academic excellence as well as knowledge and skills to face the challenges of citizen leaders of the twenty-first century.

Be challenged as you explore leadership from many perspectives, shadow campus and community leaders, build practical skills, and put theory into practice in case studies as well as individual and group leadership projects.
